The Hunger Games Chapter 27 Comprehension Questions

1. What goes on during the final interview?
 
 During the final interview, Ceasar interviews both Peeta and Katniss. They show their affection.Peeta even kisses Katniss. Ceasar asked Katniss when was it that she knew he really liked him. Accoring to Haymitch, she answered it perfectly with the help of Ceasar. Katniss also barely found out that Peeta had a new leg.
 
2. What happened to Peeta's leg?
 
  Peeta got his old wounded leg replaced with another new leg. Katniss felt bad for what happened to Peeta's leg. 
 
3. Why does Katniss feel torn in the end?
 
  Katniss was torn at the end because she was really confused. She didn't know who she really was or had become during the games. She was confused with her feelings towards both Gale and Peeta.


4. What does Peeta realize?
 
 Peeta finally realizes that Katniss was faking being in love with him. He didn't know that she did all of that to survive the games. Peeta was hurt. Katniss didn't know what to tell Peeta about that. She was confused with her feelings towards him.

1. How does the Capitol heal Katniss?
 
   The Capitol healed Katniss with a liquid that went into her veins with the tubes she had on. She kept losing consciousness. Katniss got her hearing back. All her scars were gone.
 
2. What does Haymitch reveal to Katniss before she sees the crowd?
 
  Haymitch revealed to Katniss that the Capitol was furious with her. He said that they didn't like what she did with the berries. He said that the Capitol was the joke of Panem.

1. How do the Gamemakers try to drive the last tributes together?
 
The gamemakes drain the streams and the ponds.They drain every water source except the lake.

2. How does Katniss feel about Cato?
 
She feels bad for Cato, no matter what hes done. She want him to stop suffering from the mutts.He is just a bloody mess after the attack.

3. How do the final three meet up?
 
Cato is shot with an arrow on the fore head. After getting attacked by the muttts, he is bleeding and weak. Katniss finishes him off easily. They meet up by the cornucopia.The last two alive meet up by the lake.

1. How do the Gamemakers try to drive the last tributes together? 
 
The Gamemakers try to drive the last tributes together by drying out the river. The Gamemakers must know that the tributes are looking for water. They are driving them back to the lake. They want to see the tributes in action against each other.
 
2. How does Katniss feel about Cato? 
 
Katniss feels that Cato has a special hatred against her. She feel as if she doesn't have a chance against hi. He is well trained, unlike Katniss that hasn't been trained to kill her whole life. She also kinda feels as if she can realte to him when he loses his temper easily.
 
3. How do the final three meet up? 
 
The final 3 tributes meet up when they see Cato running towards them. He is wearing a handmade armor. They notice that he's been running for a while, and away from something. They finally see that a pack of mutant-like wolves/dogs have been chasing him. This is how they meet up.

1. Why does Thresh's death affect Katniss? 
   Thresh's death affected Katniss because he let Katniss go. He let her go as a thank you for what she did for Rue. Thresh let her live. She was really sad because she didn't want him to die. She felt like she could really be friends with him.
 
2. Who is left in the arena? 
 
    Katniss, Peeta, Cato, and Foxface are left in the arena.
3. What Katniss' fears if she wins the Games? 
   Katniss fears that she might not know who she is when she doesn't hunt anymore. She is afraid of losing her identity. She has been hunting her whole life and to just stop andn ot worry about food scares her. She also doesn't want to end up like Haymitch, alone.
4. What happens to Foxface? 
    Foxface secretely took some berries that Peeta was gathering. Peeta nor Foxface knew that those berries were poisonous. As soon as Foxface ate a berry. . . she died.

1. Who's the first to get their pack?
 
Foxface is the first tribute to go in her pack. She just went in to get it and nobody did anything to her. Katniss got mad and jealou because she wanted to do that.
 
2. Who catches Katniss?

Clove is the one who catches Katniss. She attacks her to the ground. Katniss is pinned down and can't get up. Clove gets her knife and starts to cut her lip. Then, someone comes and pushes her off of Katniss. it was Thresh!
 
3. Why does Thresh let Katniss go?

Thresh lets Katniss go because Katniss told him that she didn't kill Rue. He knows that they were allies and that Katniss did something nice to her when she died. 
 
4. Why does Katniss think Cato will go after Thresh and not her?

Katniss thinks Cato will go after Thresh beacuse he took his districts pack. Katniss knows that Cato really needs tho supply that's in the pack. He'll do anything for it.
