The Hunger Games Chapter 10 Comprehension Questions

1. Why does Peeta reveal his love for Katniss? Do you think he really loves her? Why or why not?

 Peeta reveals his love for Katniss to win the crowd and get attention. Now that he revealed his love for Katniss, the whole Capitol is going to have something to talk about. It'll help to get sponsors. I think Peeta really does like Katniss because he's shown that he really cares for her and  he's asked her about Gale and what's been going on between them. I think he doesn't want to lose her to Gale and he might be jealous of Katniss' and Gale's friendship.


2. What is Peeta’s main concern during the hunger games? 


 Peeta's main concern is that he's worried that the games will change him, he wants to stay true to himself and he doesn't want the games to get to him. He also doesn't want the Capitol to see that the games are changing him because that's what the Capitol has been wanting to see.

3. How does the Capitol view the previous arenas of the hunger games? How many games have there been?


The Capitol views the Hunger Game arenas as historic sites.They never use the same arena again, every
game is a new arena.They are popular and they are visited a lot. People can even participate in the reeanactments.  There has been seventy three games and This is the seventy fourth.

4. What do you feel is the purpose of the Hunger Games?

 The purpose of the games is to just show that the Capitol is the highest and the rest of the districts are below it. They want to show everyone that they are the ones with the highest power and most control. They will never be defeated,they love watching people suffer. The games are consequences due to the rebeliion there was.
